Agua Bendita
While studying fashion design at Medellin’s Colegiatura Colombiana, classmates Catalina Alvarez and Mariana Hinestroza began crafting swimwear for friends and family out of brightly colored fabric scraps. To meet demand, they soon turned their side project into a full-blown business in 2003 and Agua Bendita, meaning “holy water” in Spanish, was born. Since then, the cult-favorite swim label has been plucking inspiration from the designers’ Colombian roots and empowering the local community by employing local artisans to design and hand-finish each piece. The finished products? Tropical Agua Bendita swimwear, eye-catching coverups, and bold, beachy essentials that will whisk your closet off to paradise.
